Used Walther Arms Values 2026:
Every Model, Every Caliber.

Carl Walther GmbH was founded in 1886 by Carl Walther in Zella-Mehlis, Germany. Walther produced the PP / PPK series (1929) — the carry pistol made famous by James Bond — and the P38 (1938), Germany's WWII service pistol. The modern PPQ / PDP line is the basis of one of the smoothest striker triggers on the market. The Q5 Match Steel Frame is a competition standard. U.S. distribution and warranty service runs through Walther Arms Inc. in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Pre-1945 P38s and original Manurhin-built (French) PP/PPKs are highly collected.

Walther Arms Value FAQ

Are pre-WWII PPKs more valuable than current production?

Yes, dramatically. Original German-made (Zella-Mehlis) pre-1945 PPKs in original condition can run $1,500-5,000+ depending on rarity and provenance — particularly Eagle-stamped Nazi-era police issue. Manurhin (French, 1952-1986) production is the next tier. Current Walther Arms (Fort Smith, AR) production trades near MSRP.

What's special about the PPQ Quick Defense trigger?

The PPQ trigger has a very short (0.1") reset and a clean 5.6 lb pull with no perceptible take-up after the first shot. Many competition shooters consider it the best out-of-the-box striker trigger on the market. The PDP retained the same trigger system.

Is the P22 a serious carry pistol?

No — the P22 is a training and recreational .22 LR pistol designed to mimic the form factor of the PPQ. It's a small-frame rimfire and not chambered for centerfire. Walther also makes PPK/S 22 LR variants for those who want a James Bond aesthetic in rimfire.

Why is the Q5 Match Steel Frame so popular for competition?

The steel frame adds ~1 lb of muzzle-light mass that dampens recoil and improves recovery between shots. Combined with the PPQ trigger and a 5" barrel, it's become a standard Production Optics setup in IPSC / USPSA. The Champion variant adds a Vortex Viper red dot package.
