Volquartsen Value FAQ
Is a Volquartsen 10/22 worth the premium?
For competition shooters — yes. Volquartsen's match-grade barrels, hand-tuned triggers (1.5-2 lb pull), and aluminum chassis routinely shoot 0.25 MOA with quality match ammunition at 50 yards. Significantly faster cycle times than stock 10/22s. MSRP runs $1,400-2,500 for complete rifles.
Are Volquartsen receivers Ruger or proprietary?
Volquartsen makes complete proprietary CNC-machined aluminum receivers (the VT2 series). Earlier Volquartsen builds used Ruger receivers as a starting point. Current production is entirely Volquartsen-machined.
What's the LLV?
Light Long Volley — Volquartsen's drop-in replacement upper assembly for the Ruger Mark IV. Adds a match barrel, optic-ready slide, and Volquartsen trigger components. Sold separately ($600-900) or as a complete pistol ($1,500-1,900).
Where are Volquartsen products made?
Carroll, Iowa. The company has been at the same facility since 1974. All barrels, receivers, and major components are CNC-machined in-house. Trigger work and final fitting done by hand.
