Used Taurus Values 2026:
Every Model, Every Caliber.

Forjas Taurus was founded in 1939 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Taurus is one of the largest handgun manufacturers in the world by unit volume, with U.S. production based in Bainbridge, Georgia (Taurus USA, formerly Miami). The G2c, G3, and G3c striker series are budget-tier best-sellers; the Judge revolver (chambered for both .45 Colt and .410 shotshell) is one of the most-produced revolvers of the 21st century. The Raging Hunter and Raging Bull large-frame magnums anchor the hunting revolver line.

Taurus Value FAQ

Are Taurus pistols reliable?

Modern Taurus production (2018+ G3 / GX4 series) has dramatically improved over older PT-series guns. Taurus Reliability Service Program (TRSP) covers issues with Millennium-series pistols. Current G3 and GX4 trades are competitive entry-level concealed carry pistols at $300-450 MSRP.

What's the .45 Colt / .410 ammo situation in the Judge?

Judges chamber both .45 Colt cartridges and .410 shotshells. The .410 in 2.5" or 3" lengths is common; the magnum-frame Judges accept 3" .410 only. The Raging Judge XXVIII adds .454 Casull for true magnum performance. Most users alternate between defensive .45 Colt and birdshot/buckshot .410 loadings.

Is Magnum Research's Desert Eagle related to Taurus?

No — completely separate companies. Taurus is Brazilian; Magnum Research is American (now owned by Kahr). The Desert Eagle is a Magnum Research product, not Taurus.

Why did Taurus discontinue the PT92?

The PT92 (Beretta 92-pattern) was discontinued in 2024 after Beretta's licensing dispute resolved. Original Taurus PT92s are still common on the secondary market and trade $200-400 below comparable Beretta 92FS — the build quality is acceptable but not equal to Beretta.
