Used Springfield Armory Values 2026:
Every Model, Every Caliber.

Springfield Armory Inc. was founded in 1974 by Robert Reese in Geneseo, Illinois, taking its name from the historic U.S. arsenal (1777-1968) that produced the M1903 and M1 Garand. The modern company is not affiliated with the original arsenal. Springfield's M1A series is the leading civilian semi-auto M14 platform, the XD/XD-M/Hellcat striker pistols are major sellers, and the 1911 line (TRP, Mil-Spec, Garrison, Ronin, Operator) competes directly with Colt and Smith & Wesson 1911 production.

Springfield Armory Value FAQ

Is Springfield Armory the same company as the historic federal arsenal?

No. The original Springfield Armory was a U.S. government arsenal that operated from 1777 to 1968 and produced military rifles including the M1903 Springfield and M1 Garand. The modern Springfield Armory Inc. (founded 1974, headquartered in Geneseo, Illinois) is a private firearms company that licensed the name. They are not affiliated.

What's the difference between TRP and Operator 1911s?

The TRP (Tactical Response Pistol) is Springfield's flagship 1911 — match-grade slide-to-frame fit, Bo-Mar adjustable rear sight, full hand-fitting, and 1.5" group guarantee at 25 yards. Operator-grade 1911s have integrated accessory rails for lights and lasers. Both are Custom Shop builds at the top of Springfield's line.

Are M1A rifles based on the M14?

Yes — the M1A is the civilian semi-auto version of the U.S. M14 service rifle. The M14 had a select-fire option; the M1A is semi-only. The Standard M1A uses original USGI dimensions; the SOCOM and Scout variants have shortened barrels for closer-quarters use.

Why are Hellcat pistols so popular?

The Hellcat is the highest-capacity micro-9mm on the market (11+1 standard, 13+1 extended) in a footprint similar to the Sig P365. It launched in 2019 and quickly became one of the top-selling concealed-carry pistols. Pro variants extend the grip and slide for a more shootable platform without much added size.
