Used Savage Arms Values 2026:
Every Model, Every Caliber.

Savage Arms was founded in 1894 by Arthur Savage in Utica, New York. The Model 110 (1958) is the longest continuously-produced bolt-action centerfire rifle in U.S. history. Savage pioneered the user-adjustable AccuTrigger (2003), now standard across the line, and is the third-largest American bolt-action maker by volume after Remington and Ruger. Owns Stevens (1864) for budget rifles and shotguns. Recent acquisitions added the Renegauge shotgun line, Impulse straight-pull rifle, and MSR-15/MSR-10 AR-platform rifles.

Savage Arms Value FAQ

When did Savage introduce the AccuTrigger?

2003. The AccuTrigger was a user-adjustable single-stage trigger with an integrated AccuRelease safety lever — the first widely-distributed factory-adjustable trigger from a major U.S. maker. It immediately became a Savage selling point and is now standard across the Model 110 family. Pre-AccuTrigger 110s are dated by serial number and trade slightly below post-2003 production.

Is the Model 99 still in production?

No — Savage discontinued the Model 99 lever-action in 1998 after a 99-year production run (1899-1998). Pre-1960 Model 99s in original condition, particularly in rare chamberings like .22 HP or .250-3000 Savage, are highly collected. The Model 99PE (Presentation Edition) is the premium variant.

Why is the .250-3000 Savage so collected?

Introduced 1915 in the Model 99, .250-3000 (also called .250 Savage) was the first cartridge to break 3,000 fps from a sporting rifle. Original Model 99 lever rifles in this chambering are sought after both as collectibles and as functional shooters. Brass and factory ammo are still produced.

How does the Impulse straight-pull compare to a traditional bolt-action?

The Impulse uses a horizontal hex-bolt operation that's ~30% faster between shots than a traditional rotating bolt. It's popular for European-style driven hunts and has been adopted by some U.S. precision-rifle shooters. Cost is comparable to a high-end 110 (~$1,400-2,000 MSRP).
