Used Remington Values 2026:
Every Model, Every Caliber.

Founded in 1816 by Eliphalet Remington in Ilion, New York, Remington is one of America's oldest firearms manufacturers. The Model 700 bolt-action is the best-selling centerfire rifle in U.S. history, the Model 870 pump shotgun is the most-produced shotgun ever made, and the Model 1100 defined the autoloading shotgun market for decades. Pre-2007 (pre-Cerberus) and pre-2018 (pre-bankruptcy) production years are particularly important to collector value, as is original Ilion-made provenance versus later Huntsville production.

Remington Value FAQ

Does the year of manufacture matter on a Model 700?

Yes — pre-2007 Remington production (before the Cerberus / Freedom Group sale) is generally preferred for fit-and-finish. The Walker trigger from the early Model 700s has a known recall history; 2007-2014 produced rifles can have inconsistent quality. 2014+ rifles use the X-Mark Pro trigger which has been reliable. Original-condition rifles in popular chamberings (.30-06, .270, .308) sell quickly.

Are early Model 870 Wingmasters worth more than Express models?

Yes — Wingmasters were the premium-grade variant with polished blue finish and walnut stocks; Express was the budget tier with matte finish and birch/laminate stocks. A clean original 1960s-1980s Wingmaster in 12 or 20 gauge typically commands $300-500 above an equivalent Express, and high-grade engraved Wingmasters substantially more.

Why do Model 1100 prices vary by gauge?

12 gauge is the most common and easiest to sell. The 20 gauge LT-20 is desirable. The 28 gauge and .410 Bore variants are uncommon and command significant premiums — clean 28 gauge 1100 Sporters can sell for 2-3x equivalent 12 gauges.

What's the difference between Remington Arms and RemArms?

Remington's bankruptcy in 2020 split the company. Roundhill Group acquired the firearms business and now operates as RemArms (remarms.com), producing the Model 700 and Model 870 from the Ilion, NY factory. The ammunition business went to Vista Outdoor (now Federal). Pre-2020 Remington firearms are 'old company'; post-2020 are RemArms production.
