What is the E2 chamber?
POF's Extracted Extraction (E2) chamber has four small flutes cut at the chamber neck that allow gas to flow around the cartridge case during extraction. This reduces extraction force and minimizes broken-case-rim failures, particularly under sustained fire or with dirty ammunition.
Are POF rifles worth the premium over PSA?
For most shooters — only if you want piston operation and the NP3 cleanliness/wear advantages. The Revolution series is unique in that it puts a .308-caliber upper on a 5.56-sized lower, saving 1-2 lbs versus a true AR-10-pattern .308. That weight savings is meaningful for backcountry hunters.
Is POF really piston-driven?
Yes — POF uses a short-stroke piston system that keeps the bolt carrier and chamber significantly cleaner than direct impingement. The downside is added weight and slightly more complex disassembly. POF also offers DI variants for shooters who prefer that operation.
