Used New England Firearms Values 2026:
Every Model, Every Caliber.

New England Firearms (NEF) was founded in 1893 as a single-shot rifle and shotgun maker in Gardner, Massachusetts. Now owned by Marlin Firearms (via Ruger). NEF produces affordable break-action single-shot rifles (Handi-Rifle, Pardner) and shotguns. Many calibers, including unusual ones like .357 Magnum and .500 S&W. The Pardner Pump shotgun is a budget alternative to the Remington 870. NEF's Survivor pistol/rifle (folding combo) is unique.

New England Firearms Value FAQ

Are Handi-Rifles still produced?

No — current production stopped around 2018. NEF was acquired by Marlin Firearms in 2007, and Marlin discontinued the line after the Ruger acquisition in 2020. Used Handi-Rifles are extremely common; trade $200-400 depending on chambering.

Are Handi-Rifles accurate?

Surprisingly yes — single-shot break-action design with no recoil lug stress on the action gives them consistent accuracy. 1-2 MOA is common with quality ammunition. The .223 Remington and .308 Win variants are particularly well-regarded for varmint and deer hunting.

What's the Survivor?

A unique folding combination rifle/pistol — .22 LR rifled barrel paired with .410 Bore shotgun barrel (or .223 Remington / 20 Gauge variant). Folds in half for storage. Designed for survival, trail, and small-game applications. Discontinued; trades $250-450 used.

Is the Pardner Pump a Mossberg or Remington clone?

Neither — the Pardner Pump (manufactured in China for NEF) is its own design. Mechanically similar to a Remington 870 but with different magazine system and stock attachment. Functional and affordable; trade $150-250 used.
