Mossberg International Value FAQ

Are Mossberg International shotguns made by Mossberg?

No — they're imported. Silver Reserve II shotguns are Turkish-made (Yildiz / Khan Arms factories). The 'International' branding indicates import origin and budget pricing. Build quality is acceptable but distinctly below mainline Mossberg (Eagle Pass, TX) production.

How does Silver Reserve compare to Stoeger Condor?

Comparable Turkish-made O/U shotguns at the $500-800 entry price point. Silver Reserve has slightly better wood and finish; Condor has slightly better internals. Personal preference — both are functional budget O/Us.

Is the International Plinkster a real Mossberg?

Brazilian-made (Boito factory) under license. The Plinkster .22 LR bolt-action is one of the cheapest .22 rifles available at $130-180 MSRP. Functions well as a youth / introductory rimfire. Not on par with Ruger 10/22 or CZ 457 in fit-and-finish but appropriate for the price.

Are Silver Reserve worth restocking with better wood?

Not really — the cost to upgrade walnut to a Premium grade exceeds the value of the entry-level Silver Reserve. For better wood, buy the Mossberg Reserve Sporting or upgrade to a Beretta 686.
