Used Les Baer Values 2026:
Every Model, Every Caliber.

Les Baer Custom was founded in 1991 in LeClaire, Iowa by Les Baer, a former Springfield Armory custom shop builder. Les Baer 1911s are built to extremely tight tolerances — the Thunder Ranch Special and Premier II are guaranteed to shoot 1.5" groups at 50 yards from a Ransom rest, which is uncommonly tight for production 1911s. Les Baer also produces match-grade AR-15 rifles (the M4 Flat-Top, the LBC Custom rifles) and the .308 Monolith rifle.

Les Baer Value FAQ

Are Les Baer 1911s really 1.5" at 50 yards?

Yes — the Thunder Ranch Special and Premier II are guaranteed to group within 1.5" at 50 yards from a Ransom rest with quality match ammunition. This is uncommonly tight tolerance for any production semi-auto pistol. Each gun ships with a target showing actual factory test results.

How do Les Baer guns compare to Wilson Combat?

Les Baer focuses heavily on shooting accuracy and tight tolerances — Wilson Combat balances accuracy with shootability and aesthetic. Les Baer often has a heavier trigger and more match-grade feel; Wilson has more polished triggers and finer external finish. Different markets. MSRP comparable ($2,500-4,500 for standard Premier II vs Wilson CQB).

What is the Boss .45?

Les Baer's heavyweight 1911 — extra-heavy steel slide and frame for reduced recoil. Built specifically for IPSC and bullseye competition. Production limited; on the secondary market typically commands a small premium over standard Premier II.

Are Les Baer AR rifles competitive?

Les Baer ARs are match-grade competition rifles, similar in positioning to Wilson Combat ARs. The Super Varmint and Custom Match rifles are particularly accurate. Production capacity is small (Les Baer focuses primarily on 1911 production). ARs run $1,800-3,500 MSRP.
