High Standard Value FAQ

Are vintage High Standard Olympic pistols valuable?

Yes — original Hartford-era (pre-1985) Citation, Olympic ISU, and Trophy pistols in original condition with original boxes and accessories regularly trade $800-2,500+. The Military and Olympic ISU variants in .22 Short for International Sport Shooting competition are particularly sought after. Pre-1968 production is the most collected era.

Is modern High Standard production the same quality?

Mixed. The Houston, Texas production (2000s+) is functional but lacks the fit-and-finish refinement of the original Hartford era. Spartan 1911s are reasonably-priced functional pistols ($500-800). The Trophy II and Victor II rimfires are heavier and less refined than originals.

What's the difference between Citation and Victor?

Both are slab-side .22 LR target pistols. Victor is the heavier, more refined model with a more polished finish and weight-tuned barrel for ISSF competition. Citation is the standard sporting variant. Both share the same basic action; Victor commands a 30-40% premium over equivalent Citation.

Are High Standard shotguns common today?

K-100 and K-200 pump shotguns are uncommon on the U.S. market — they're produced in small batches. Used examples trade $300-500 (K-100) to $500-700 (K-200 Magnum). Functional but not collected.
