Used Heckler & Koch Values 2026:
Every Model, Every Caliber.

Heckler & Koch was founded in 1949 by Edmund Heckler, Theodor Koch, and Alex Seidel in Oberndorf am Neckar, Germany — many of the original engineers came from Mauser. H&K is best known for the MP5 submachine gun, the G3 battle rifle, the USP pistol, and the modern VP9 striker pistol. The MP5, while restricted from civilian semi-auto sale until the 1980s, now has dedicated civilian descendants in the SP5 and HK94. The HK416 is the basis for the U.S. Marine Corps M27 IAR.

Heckler & Koch Value FAQ

Is the SP5 a real MP5?

It's the civilian semi-auto descendant — same roller-delayed blowback action and external dimensions as the MP5, but with a longer barrel (8.86") and pistol classification (no shoulder stock). With an SBR Form 1 you can add a stock and shorten the barrel to true MP5 SD configuration. The SP5K is the K variant; SP5L is the long version.

What's the difference between MR556 and HK416?

Mechanically identical — the MR556 is the civilian semi-auto-only version of the HK416. Same upper, same trigger group differences (no auto sear), same cold-hammer-forged barrel. The MR556 A1 launched in 2008; the A4 added M-LOK handguard and improvements. Trade well above $3,000 used.

Are pre-1989 H&K rifles more valuable?

Yes, particularly the HK91 / HK93 / HK94 series. The 1989 Bush Sr. import ban stopped these rifles from coming to the U.S., and pre-ban examples have been steadily appreciating. A clean original-config HK91 commonly trades $3,500-7,000+; HK94 (semi-auto MP5 predecessor) trades $5,000-12,000+.

Why is the P7 so collected?

The P7M8 / P7M13 used a unique gas-delayed blowback action with a squeeze-cock grip safety. Production stopped in 2008. The unusual design and limited production made them collectible — original-condition P7M8s with original box and accessories run $2,000-3,500.
