Are Daniel Defense rifles really worth the price?
On the secondary market, yes — DDM4 carbines hold 75-90% of MSRP in original condition with all original parts. Mil-spec dimensions, cold-hammer-forged chrome-lined barrels, and the M4A1 SOCOM contract heritage drive demand. They sell quickly when listed at fair market value.
What's the difference between V7 and V11?
Both are 16" DDM4 carbines in 5.56 NATO. The V7 has a free-float MFR (Modular Float Rail) handguard at 13.5"; the V11 has the longer MFR XL 15" handguard for additional rail real estate. Otherwise mechanically identical.
Are M4A1 commercial-issue rifles different from DDM4?
Yes — the M4A1 commercial-issue has the actual RIS II rail system used on the SOCOM contract, full-auto-style markings, and a heavier profile barrel. Limited production runs only. Trades at a $400-700 premium over equivalent DDM4.
