Used Bushmaster Values 2026:
Every Model, Every Caliber.

Bushmaster Firearms International was founded in 1973 in Windham, Maine. Long a major civilian AR-15 supplier (XM-15 series), Bushmaster went through Remington/Cerberus ownership, was discontinued in 2018, then reacquired by Franklin Armory's parent company in 2020 and reintroduced in 2022. Pre-2018 Bushmaster XM-15s are now collected as discontinued production. Current Bushmaster offerings include the XM-15, ACR (Adaptive Combat Rifle), and Carbon-15 platforms.

Bushmaster Value FAQ

Are pre-2018 Bushmasters worth more?

Pre-Remington-bankruptcy Bushmasters (made in Windham, Maine, through 2018) are now harder to find. They trade at a slight premium to current production. Original-condition XM-15 E2S rifles from the early 2000s with all original parts and accessories run $750-1,200 used.

What is the ACR?

The ACR (Adaptive Combat Rifle) was Bushmaster's piston-driven modular rifle, derived from the Magpul Masada design. It's an entirely separate platform from the AR-15 — multi-caliber upper receivers, side-folding stock, and an enhanced piston-operated bolt carrier. ACRs trade in the $1,800-3,500 range used depending on configuration.

Is .450 Bushmaster a proprietary cartridge?

No — .450 Bushmaster is a standardized SAAMI cartridge developed by Bushmaster and chambered by many other manufacturers (Ruger, Savage, Mossberg, CMMG, etc.). It's a straight-walled .45-caliber rifle cartridge designed for the AR-15 platform and is approved for deer hunting in midwestern straight-wall-only states.
