About the Winchester Model 1894 Carbine
The Winchester Model 1894 is the gun that defined the American lever-action. Over seven million have been built; it has been chambered in everything from .25-35 to .450 Marlin; and the iconic .30-30 chambering has put more meat in American freezers than any other cartridge. Current production is by Miroku in Japan to original Winchester specifications.
Why the Winchester Model 1894 Carbine Is Valued
Pre-1964 Winchesters command significant collector premiums. Post-2006 Miroku production is more accurate and better-finished than late USRA-era production. The .30-30 chambering is the most-traded.
What Affects This Gun's Value
Pre-1964 production adds $300–800 in similar condition. Pre-1899 production (antique) adds $500–2000. Trapper (16") and Short Rifle (20") variants are at par. Engraved or commemorative editions vary wildly — research case-by-case before pricing.
